A bit more detail about how we craft our coffee: When Craig found the coffee importer that who could source the world's finest arabica beans, he then located a roaster with unique capabilities to roast each bean to its optimal degree. An exhaustive cupping of hundreds of coffees resulted in identifying 8-10 great individual beans. After sampling numerous blends, the efforts yielded a blend of 5 different beans purchased from individual farmers of unique terrains from Africa, Asia, Central, and South America, each imparting their own gout de terroir.*
Only new crop beans are selected from the middle of the harvest to ensure ideal ripeness. A premium is paid to the farmers above that dictated by "Fair Trade" to ensure the consistent quality we want year after year.** Each bean's roasting temperature profile is measured and computer controlled to within +/- 0.1oC, and is matched to each bean to impart the special qualities of that bean to the final brewed coffee. After roasting, the beans are blended in precise, unequal portions, giving the exact taste that Chef Shelton has searched so long for.
Wholesale Packaging:
All our coffees are available in whole bean, ground, with the Ryland Inn Blend also available in decaffeinated. We can also accommodate any package configuration required for restaurant operations, or custom sized packaging to fit your retail preferences.
